UTM Link Builder

Tag every link you put in an ad, a post, an email or on a flyer so Google Analytics can tell you which one actually brought the customer. Pick a preset, type your campaign name, copy the link. Nothing leaves your browser.

How to use it, and why it matters

    How to use

Pick a preset, name the campaign

Presets fill source and medium the way Google Analytics expects them (google / cpc, facebook / paid_social, newsletter / email). You only type the campaign name. Use the same name across every channel of one promotion so they line up in one report.

    Why it matters

“Direct” traffic is where money hides

Without tags, a click from an Instagram story, a QR code on a table tent and a Google Business Profile button all show up as “direct” or “social”. Tagged, you can see that the table tent brought 40 online orders and the story brought 3, and spend accordingly.

    Rules we follow

    Lowercase, no spaces, consistent

Analytics treats Facebook and facebook as two different sources. Keep everything lowercase and use underscores. Never tag links that point from one page of your site to another: that overwrites the real source.
